"Dwelling in China - Henan Xia Shang and Zhou dynasties Civilization Exhibition" made a brilliant debut in the Shanghai Museum, with Guo Bao among them

On July 29, 2022, under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of cultural relics, the Henan Provincial Bureau of cultural relics, and the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, hosted by the Shanghai Museum and the Henan Museum, and jointly participated by 20 cultural and Museum units, including the Henan Institute of cultural relics and Archaeology and the Guoguo Museum, the "homestead in China - Henan Xia Shang and Zhou dynasties Civilization Exhibition" was officially launched in the Shanghai Museum.




The exhibition is the first special exhibition of the "why China" cultural relics and Archaeology exhibition series in the Shanghai Museum, with a total of more than 200 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics from the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties in Henan. Among them, the Erlitou site is inlaid with Turquoise animal face patterns, women's good owl statue, engraved words, bu Jia and other important collections, involving 89 archaeological sites, which intensively show the important archaeological discoveries of the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties excavated in Henan Province. The exhibition is divided into Xia, Shang and Wednesday. It focuses on exploring the source of Chinese civilization. With cultural relics as the point, time as the line, and the king capital as the face, it traces the source along the axis of history, leading the audience to the Central Plains during the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, and exploring the magnificent spirit and charm of the Central Plains Civilization during the pre-Qin period. The exhibition will continue to be displayed until October 23, 2022.




A total of 15 sets of 85 cultural relics were exhibited in the Guoguo museum this time, including 9 sets of selected jade and bronze first-class cultural relics /79 pieces. The "xiaochentuo" jade Cong, "xiaochenshi" jade Bi, and dragon phoenix pattern jade Ge were all exhibited for the first time. Together with precious cultural relics from other parts of the Central Plains, they made a wonderful appearance in the Shanghai Museum, giving the audience a glimpse of the splendid cultural relics of the state of Guo during the Western Zhou Dynasty, Feel the formation and trend of the "pluralistic integration" pattern in the early stage of Chinese civilization.

This exhibition is the first cooperation between Guoguo Museum and Shanghai Museum.
